Deliberate "mistake": When John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson are fired at in the apartment, the bullet holes are already in the wall before the gun is fired.
Continuity: At the beginning, when Brett is initially shot by both Jules and Vincent after Jules' Ezekiel speech, we see Jules' gun becomes empty on firing the last shot. However, on returning to the same scene at the end, when Jules and Vincent shoot Brett the gun does not empty; in fact Jules is able to repeatedly shoot the guy who comes out of the bathroom afterwards and the gun still isn't empty.
Visible crew/equipment: When Vince and Mia get back from Jack Rabbit Slims, and Mia is putting on the music, the shadow of a person walks past her on her left, but Vince is standing still in that scene.
Visible crew/equipment: When Butch and Marcellus are tied up and Zed is interrogating them, you can sometimes see the shadow of the stick of the boom mike on Zed, and sometimes even the microphone part of it.
Continuity: In the beginning when Ringo and Yolanda are discussing bank robbery and Yolanda says "Then well what then? Day job?", Ringo has his hand with the cigarette on the table. When it cuts he suddenly takes a lung full of smoke.
Continuity: When Mia and Vincent are eating at Jack Rabbit Slims, and she returns from the bathroom, she takes a bite out of her hamburger, then we see just a second later that there are a couple of bites out of her hamburger, then it goes back to one bite out of her hamburger.
Visible crew/equipment: When Vincent enters Mia's home for the first time, a camera and a camera operator are visible in a reflection on the windows in front of them. They have a black blanket or tarp covering them to make them harder to see.
Continuity: In the flashback with Christopher Walken, we see him hold up the watch, and its hands are clearly pointing in different directions. But when we see a close-up of the watch, it is set to 12.
Visible crew/equipment: When Jules and Vincent are riding in the car during the "Royale with Cheese" conversation, it is possible to see the reflection of their car in the background, being towed on a trailer.
Continuity: The tall "Big Kahuna Burger" bag, disappears when the camera faces Brett yet it's there when the camera is behind Brett. The bag is only a few inches to the left of the soda when the camera is behind him so it should be there in the front shots too, yet isn't.
Continuity: When Mia and Vincent arrive at Jackrabbit Slims, they stand in front of a desk and confirm their booking. Throughout her exchange with the 'greeter', Mia's fringe is swept to the side, looks a bit greasy, and is separated. When they go to walk to their table in the next shot, it's suddenly perfect and covering her whole forehead.
Revealing: In the scene where Lance opens his front door to see Vincent driving across his lawn, with an over-dosed Mia inside the car, the car passes to the left out of view, then we hear the sound of it crashing to a stop against the house. Lance goes outside to see just that as Vincent carries Mia out of the car. If you look at the wheel marks on the lawn, you can see that the car has in fact driven past the house, and out of sight, and that the car in which Vincent and Mia came from was already obviously there already in "crashed mode".
Continuity: When Vincent is shooting up, we see him taking out and assembling his special chrome-plated syringe. In the following close-up of the actual shooting-up, the syringe is a standard disposable plastic one.
Continuity: When Butch is driving the Honda to and from getting his watch at his apartment, from the inside of the Honda the windows are opaque and dirty and hard to see through, but shown from the outside the car windows are clean and you can see through them.
Continuity: When Vincent takes Mia home after giving her the shot, Vincent and Mia talk, then Mia finally tells Vincent the Fox Force Five joke. Before and while she tells the joke, in every shot behind her, her arms are down by her sides, yet in every front view of her, her arms are folded, or one arm is up by her mouth.
Continuity: When Mia gets injected with the adrenalin, she gets up screaming and Trudi gets up in the coach. When it cuts Trudi gets up in the coach again.
Continuity: When Ringo suggests they should rob the cafe they are at, Yolanda puts her right hand on the table saying "This place?" while her left hand is under the table. When it cuts to her saying "A coffee shop?" we see her leaning her left arm on the table.
Continuity: When Butch is getting dressed in the motel room, Fabienne is sitting on bed telling him what she will order for breakfast. As she tells him, in a front shot of her, her right arm is down and her right hand is resting on her ankles. It then cuts to a behind shot of her and her head is now resting on her right hand.
Continuity: After Mia has recovered from the overdose, Vincent carries her to her house. As they are walking in the small alley, the camera shows Vincent saying, "If Marcellus lives his whole life he doesn't need to know about this incident," and he opens his arms. In the next shot we can see Vincent from the back and he has his arms in a different position.
Continuity: When Jules and Vincent are about to get hosed down, Jimmy's right arm is holding a pink towel on the right and a blue towel on the left. Jimmy hands Jules a soap bar with his left hand, but when the camera changes point of view, Jimmy's right arm is now handing off the soap and the towels seem to have vanished. In the next shot of Jimmy, the towels have reappeared on his arm but in opposite positions from where they were previously.
Visible crew/equipment: At the end of the film, when Jules and Vincent open the cafeteria door the set lights are reflected on the glass surface.
Continuity: When Jules enters the apartment, the Big Kahuna Sprite cup changes the direction it's facing in the following shots.
Continuity: When Butch crashes and Marcellus shoots the woman, there's a second woman next to the door, and a white cup next to her. In the wide shot the cup is gone.
Continuity: When Butch is choosing his weapon, he leaves a hammer on the counter, with half of the handle hanging loose off of it. When the angle changes, it has changed positions and now all is resting on the counter.
Continuity: When Mia and Vincent receive the order in Jack Rabbit Slims, the Vanilla Coke ordered by Vincent comes with a straw, then the straw disappears, then reappears, several times.
Continuity: When Lance gives the adrenalin syringe to Vincent, Vincent is holding his hands on Mia's chest. When it cuts to a close-up on Mia Vincent's hands has suddenly disappeared.
Continuity: When Vincent and Jules get to the bar where Marsellus and Butch are at, Jules is handed a bottle. Then the bartender says he heard that Vincent is taking Mia out and Jules haves a sip from the bottle and lowers it. When it cuts he lowers the bottle again.
Continuity: When Vincent is going to give Mia the adrenaline shot, Lance fills the syringe with the adrenaline. Yet after the syringe is handed to Vincent, it's obviously empty.
Continuity: In the opening scene, when the camera focuses on Yolanda, the closest car in the background is a moving yellow jeep. But the next car to pass by the window in the next shot is a large white delivery van.
Visible crew/equipment: When Vincent is talking to himself in the bathroom, just before Mia's overdose, the shadow of the boom mic is reflected in the mirror next to him.
Continuity: After Butch leaves his apartment and is stopped at a stoplight, Marsellus stops in front of the car and Butch attempts to escape, in the process hitting Marsellus. When Marsellus stirs, his eyes flutter open once and you can see that his eyes are blue. Except, when he stands up and says, "I'll be damned." it is clear that his eyes are a dark brown.
Continuity: Towards the end of the movie in the coffee shop scene, we see Samuel L. Jackson holding up his wallet, waiting to deposit it into the bag, it is very apparent that there is no writing on this wallet, it is a fat, and barely able to stay folded, yet when Ringo is instructed to retrieve this wallet, the one he brings out is now the one that says "Bad Motherfu**er", it is very slim, and a darker brown.
Continuity: In the pawn shop scene, the blood stain on Butch's shirt changes several times from shot to shot.
Continuity: When Mia has just snorted some cocaine in Jack Rabbit Slims' bathroom, she is rubbing her nose and says 'I said God damn' and she has little or no lipstick on, the shot changes and she is still rubbing her nose but her lips have gotten considerably darker red.
Continuity: When Butch escapes on the chopper (Grace), the chopper appears to have a side draught type carburetor in front of the stock Harley Davison air filter. When he arrives back at the motel to pick up Fabienne, only the stock air filter is present.
Continuity: After returning from Jackrabbit Slims, Vincent goes to the toliet and Mia puts on some music, then sits on the couch. In one closeup of Mia, she takes a cigarette and puts it in her mouth, and you can see she isn't wearing Vincents grey jacket. Then when it cuts to a wider shot of her lighting the cigarette, the jacket has appeared on her.
Continuity: In the scene at the diner at the end of the movie, Vincent is cutting pancakes with the knife in his right hand, fork in the left. When he begins laughing at the "Arnold on Green Acres" comment, he puts his head down onto the back of his right hand which now has the fork, but he never switched utensils.
Continuity: When Vincent and Jules are in Brett's room where the three men are eating hamburgers for breakfast, when Jules shoots the one on the lounge, there is a definite sound and the guy sustains the gunshot but there is no muzzle flash or recoil on Jules' .45.
Deliberate "mistake": When Butch is riding in the taxi and smoking, the cigarette smoke is lazily drifting out of the window of the vehicle. If they were traveling at any real speed (i.e. not on a set with a movie screen behind it) their smoke would be ripped out of the taxi by the wind. Also, when he tosses out some of his stuff you can hear it hit the wooden floor of the stage.
Continuity: When Butch has just exited the store where he and Marsellus were being held, the "chopper" keys move from his left to right hand in the cuts.
Continuity: At Jackrabbit Slim's when Vincent grabs the menu, he grabs it on the top right corner. When it cuts he holds it in the lower right corner instead.
Revealing: When The Wolf sprays down Jules and Vincent with the hose, they are supposed to be naked. But when Jules hands Jimmy his clothes, you can see Jules is wearing tan colored underwear at the very very bottom of the screen. You can only see a little bit of it, and it is a very quick shot.
Continuity: When Pumpkin and Honey Bunny are talking in the coffee diner at the start of the film, the sugar pot and milk pot on the diner table both constantly move between different shots throughout the conversation. The leaflet at the edge of the diner table also moves about between consecutive shots.
Continuity: At Jackrabbit Slims the red ketchup bottle on the diner table moves about five times between different shots. Sometimes it's behind Mia's milkshake, sometimes it's out on the table, right beside Mia.
Continuity: When Marsellus Wallace shoots Zed, Zed is thrown to his right. In the next shot, we see Zed lying on the floor as if he had been thrown to his left.
Continuity: After Butch crashes the car, he stumbles down the sidewalk with Marcellus staggering behind him. When the camera is directly behind Butch, cars are seen traveling down the street in the opposite direction. In the next shot, behind Marcellus and with Butch in the distance, the cars have disappeared.
Continuity: When Vince and Jules need to take off all their clothes in order to get clean, Jules takes his pants off twice. The first time he takes it off, he is saying, "Damn. This morning air is some chilly s***," and the next time, he takes off his shirt, then proceeds to start undoing his belt.
Continuity: At Jackrabbit Slim's, when Mia gets her milkshake, she plays with her straw. Between shots she goes from holding the straw with her right hand to her left hand.
Continuity: When we see Butch's arms taking the sword down from above the door in the store, the handle of the sword is on the right. But in the next shot, we see that the handle is on the left side.
Continuity: When Winston Wolfe and Raquel are getting in his car to leave Monster Joe's, there is a flatbed truck and a sedan parked behind a yellow beetle across the street. In the next shot as they are speeding off, the flatbed and sedan have somehow changed into a pickup truck and a van.
Visible crew/equipment: When Jules is talking to Marcellus and describing what would happen if Jimmy's wife came home and found them all with a dead body, we see what would possibly happen in a scene where the camera follows the wife to where they are carrying the dead body. You can sometimes see the camera shadow on the walls when the camera follows her.
Audio problem: The Philip Morris bellboy in Jack Rabbit Slim's does the famous "Call for Philip Morris." while walking away from the camera. When he turns to the side and does the call again, we can see that his mouth movement doesn't match the vocal.
Continuity: When Uma Thurman is OD'ing, and John Travolta drives her to Eric Stoltz's house, you hear him crash into the house. However, when Eric goes outside in the same shot, you can see the tyre tracks of the real car on the grass go past the (placed) car.
Continuity: When Mia is on the toilet at the restaurant she wears dark red lipstick, but when she comes back to the table she doesn't wear lipstick at all.
Deliberate "mistake": Jules' famous Ezekiel quote is actually an expansion of what is in the Bible. Ezekiel 25-17 actually reads: "And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them."
Continuity: When Lance is describing the different types of heroin to Vincent, he points to the first two baggies with his right hand, then begins to point to the third baggie with his left index finger. When the shot changes back to the baggies, we can see him pointing with his right hand again.
Continuity: When Samuel L. Jackson is talking with Tim Roth (who is holding a gun on Jackson) at the restaurant we see a closeup under the table of Jackson taking out his 9mm gun with his right hand. But moments later he takes the briefcase with the same right hand and places it on the table between them. Then seconds later Jackson pulls Roth's gun arm down with his left hand and toward him, pinning it for a moment - while at the same time Jackson suddenly pulls out from under the table *his* 9mm gun. Does he have three arms like the alien from Venus in the famous "Twilight Zone" diner episode? If he had placed it down on the seat to his right, wouldn't HoneyBunny standing over them a few feet away have seen it? If it was on the floor, he didn't reach down nearly enough to retrieve it. If it were in his shorts (as he placed it while walking out of the diner with Travolta a few minutes later) he would have had to reach down while sitting, pull it up and out and by that time, Roth and/or Honeybunny would have had three bullets in his head. It was an obvious director's sleight-of-hand, so to speak - a cheat that didn't make visual/time sense in order to surprise the audience - along with Tim Roth.
Continuity: In the final scene, Yolanda points her gun up and swings it around with one hand. In the next shot, she is holding it with both hands.
Continuity: While Mia and Vincent are eating at Jack Rabbit Slims, Mia's cigarette keeps changing hands.
