According to Cary Elwes, after Westley wakes up, Andre the Giant proceeded to let out a loud and drawn-out fart, much to the shock and disgust of the entire cast and crew. Elwes said he learned from Hulk Hogan that Andre the Giant had a habit of "breaking the ice by breaking the wind."
Trivia: Andre the Giant was provided with an ATV to make it easier for him to get around the filming locations. Cary Elwes said Andre would occasionally ruin takes by riding his ATV in front of the camera, and crewmembers would try to chase him down.
