When Carrie spots the Manolo Blahnik black Mary Jane shoes in the Vogue Accessory Closet, there is a close-up of the shoes sitting on the shelf. In the previous episode, it was established that Carrie wears size 7 1/2 in shoes. (When she was shopping with Miranda). But when we see the Mary Janes on the shelf, and when Carrie holds them in her hands; they appear to be much larger than size 7 1/2. They look about size 8-10. Yet when Carrie tries them on; she mentions that they 'almost fit', and seems to be having trouble squeezing her feet into them. The implication is that the shoes are actually too tight for her, a smaller size than what she actually wears. Yet instead of looking smaller than size 7 1/2, the shoes are apparently much larger.
