The signalling board in the control tower animates Pelham 123's movements in such detail that the police can tell when it is moving and when it has stopped. Indeed the police deduce that the hijackers have abandoned the train from this. In reality this could not happen. Subway tracks are divided into variable length blocks typically hundreds of yards in length. The signalling boards are only able to show which block a train is in. The only way to tell if a train is moving is when it moves from one block to the next and the only way to estimate speed is by how quickly it occupies successive blocks. A slow-moving or stationary train are thus not able to be so easily distinguished from one another on the board. See more...

The entry you are changing the wording of is:

Title The Taking of Pelham One Two Three
Original entry Garber says that he comes from Brooklyn. The shot of him going home on the train is a 7 train which goes to Queens. [This comment should be under the 2009 version of this movie.]

The existing entry is in the box below - please change whichever words or names which need correcting/altering. Please don't make any other comments, or remove text you aren't changing. Also, please DON'T alter character/actor names unless they're wrong - having a mix of character/actor references helps people work out who is who if they haven't seen the film. Finally, please check the whole entry, rather than just the thing you've spotted.
