Mistakes

When the execution squad is ready, Quintus says "fire". Of course this is incorrect, since you don't fire a bow and arrow, but "loose" it. The term "fire" came only with the invention of firearms. It's a common mistake in bow / arrow type situations. (Extended version only). See more...

Trivia

Oliver Reed (Proximo) died of a heart attack during filming in Malta, before all his scenes had been shot. The Mill created a digital body double for the remaining scenes by photographing a live action body double in the shadows and by mapping a 3D CGI mask of Reed's face onto the digital composite. The estimated cost was $3.2 million for two minutes of additional footage. See more...

The entry you are marking as a duplicate is:

Title Gladiator
Original entry Cicero lived at the same time as Julius Caesar (the 1st century BC), not during the 2nd century AD as the film claims. [There is never any suggestion that the Cicero who appears in the film is intended to be the historical individual of the same name. Cicero was a family name shared by hundreds of people.]
