Best continuity TV mistakes

Across Series 3 - 5, Ross remains the same age (29) for all three years. In Series 3 he tells Chandler, "No thanks, I'm 29" when offered chocolate milk; in Series 4 when the guys try to party without Gandalf they all say they're 29; and in Series 5 when he's trying to reconcile with Emily, he says either he does, or he would get divorced for the second time before age 30.

This is a mistake for the introduction for the later episodes. When Homer screams, he turns round. You see this in a wide shot. There are no boxes to the right of the door in the garage. However, two just appear out of thin air when he runs through the garage.

When the Charmed Ones' father, Victor, came to San Francisco in episode 1-3: "Thank You For Not Morphing," his last name was Halliwell. But when he came back in the third season and later, his last name was Bennett.

Lost

In numerous shots of individual characters, while on the island, the sweat stains on their clothing significantly and repeatedly change, or disappear and reappear between shots.

Season 2, episode 9. After Lincoln and LJ have been recognized by the waitress, they speed off down a road. During their conversation in the car, whenever we see LJ from (his) right side, his hair is blowing in a strong draft, and is blown away from the temple. In all other shots, his hair is completely calm, and is hanging down and forward, covering his right temple completely.

In the second season episode entitled "Yes, Monsignor", Alan is sitting at the kitchen table talking to his son Jake about a math test that Jake got a bad grade on. At the beginning of the scene Alan holds the open test in his left hand. When the camera switches back to him a second later the test is now in his right hand. Finally at the end of the scene the test is back in his left hand but is now folded.

There was an episode in which Martin attempts to end a feud between Frasier and Niles by telling a story about his detective partner. He starts with the line, "I never had a brother...", but in the episode about Frasier's cousin Nikos getting married, Martin's brother Walt was introduced.

At the beginning of every show we see Carrie walking down the street and she gets splashed by the bus. First the bus has people on it, then in the next shot they all disappear.

When the Villains send their cronies (for example, Putties, Tengu Warriors, Cogs, Piranhatrons, etc.), their numbers constantly change from when they arrive, to when they leave.

In the episode "F.U.N", the chum bucket is not across the road from the Krusty Krab, but in every other episode it is.

Throughout the episode, Number 6's lapels switch from having solid to broken white piping and back again.

When Giles is giving his speech about the Hellmouth the books Buffy's holding keep changing from facing him to facing Buffy and back again.

Scrubs

Season 6 - Episode 1 - My Mirror Image: Dr. Cox's hair colour and length change back and forth significantly during the episode.

When Jesse, Joey and Danny start telling Stephanie and DJ the story while they are laying in DJ's bed, Stephanie has 2 barrettes in her hair. Watch closely and then there's only one barrette in her hair, and then when Danny puts her to bed, there are 2 again.

Numb3rs

Season 1 - Episode 05 - Prime Suspect: When Charlie Epps is writing a quadrillion on the whiteboard, the writing alternates between shots. Most noticably when he first writes it down, there is a significant downward tendency of the 000 groups. In the next shot, they are pretty much horizontal. Also the shapes of the commas alter.

When Barnabas enters Josette's room, the door is painted white. When he leaves and Natalie follows, the door has changed to varnished wood.

Brian's newspaper's name changes from "Daily Informant" to "Daily Tim...". The newspaper also turns upside down between the two shots.

In the classroom there is a poster of Christopher Columbus in the back wall in the class. In the last shot of that scene you can notice that the poster has disappeared and is replaced with an astronaut poster.

In the episode where Katy, Carl and Todd go to see Badly Drawn Boy in concert, they go to the Rovers after the concert has finished. It's last orders so it must be 11pm. However, in the next scene in Martin's flat (when he is wondering where Katy has got to) the clock on his wall says 8 o'clock.

In the 14th episode of the 5th season, "The Perfect Week", Lily and Marshall mention that they've been using the same toothbrush ever since they've been together, but in the 14th episode of the 1st season, "Zip, zip, zip", Marshall and Lily are simultaneously brushing their teeth with a tooth brush each (before Ted and Victoria get home).

When Kelley and Zoe are freezing on the Scottish Highlands together against the burnt out minibus, Zoe's lips change colour back and forth through out the scene. It does from hypothermia blue to nice and pink just before Zoe and Kelley kiss.

Clark's hands on the hood of Jeremy's truck shift in different shots from spread wide to in front of him and close together.

Shawn claims his "sister, Stacey" uses the straightening stuff all the time. This is the only mention of her ever during the entire run of the show; and when Jack joins the show he is established as Shawn's only sibling.

After Mrs. Russo puts Justin and Max in the lair, she is wondering if she should put the big lock on the door or not. She decides not to and puts the lock down on the counter. Two shots later you see the lock is back on the door, but unlocked. You never see Mrs. Russo put the lock on the door.

4-11: Truth or Cosmoquences / Beach Bummed: When we first see Trixie and Timmy inside Timmy's large sand castle (or whatever it was), they were sitting at the ends of a long table. But when Francis destroys the castle, Trixie and Timmy are way closer together.

Oct 2003 - When Belle and Shawn are looking through the photo album, there's a picture of Jen in a wedding dress, and Jack dressed as a fireman. Shawn mentions that was Jack and Jen's first wedding. WRONG. That is when Jack stopped Jen's wedding from Emilio. He faked a fire and kidnapped her. Jennifer and Jack got married at the 'Wild West' arena.

As House describes the lady's symptoms, in the front shot Chase has a small book/pamphlet in his hand. The camera changes to a side shot in the middle of House's description and suddenly the book is on the table and no longer in Chase's hand. This happens right in the middle of House's line and Chase doesn't make any quick movements to account for this discrepancy.

Rose Tyler's hairstyle changes from shot to shot when she is discussing being 'the last human' with Cassandra. Rose's hair is in one style for the long shots, and another style for the close-ups.

After Jack brings the puppy over to the girls, the box he brought the puppy in was placed on the table behind their couch. At one point, it is knocked over, and you can see it falling down to the floor (past Janet). In the next shot, it's back on the table, and none of the characters were in a position to pick it up to place it back there.

The second time that Jumba shoots Gantu with the orange string that wraps him up, the highest it gets is his shoulders, however, when Gantu falls to the floor, the string is now in three ringlets above his forehead.
