Best game mistakes of all time (see this week and this month)
You may have noticed the "vote" buttons after every mistake on the site. If you've got a favourite mistake, vote for it to help it to the top of the leaderboard. Only one mistake per title is listed.

Green Tentacle says that Purple Tentacle brought it in after he grew arms. In the final part of the game, the player has to get the bowling ball and use it. However, this part is set BEFORE Purple Tentacle grows arms. |

| 10 | Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage | On the road between Talewok or Gwernia and Erromon, there is an enemy rat that can cause the game to crash. When you come to the area with three signposts near a big lake, you're close to where he is. If you found this area earlier, it's the same spot where that hilarious cinema scene with the guy in the forest who was afraid of monsters occurred. Follow that path around the bend, through some pine trees, and you should come across a Giant Rat at the top of a hill. Try to avoid this enemy! Whenever I engage him, he causes the game to crash. I'm not kidding! The screen goes blank, and some text shows up and it actually says something like, "System Crash", and then some other text that makes no sense to me. My suggestion is to save near the signposts, then try to sneak past that enemy. If you engage him and nothing happens, don't worry about it. But if your system crashes, there IS another way to get to Erromon. You'll have to look for an opening in the wall along the road (you'll pass through some pine trees.) You should pass a treasure chest along the way. You'll emerge out onto a high plateau with another treasure chest. There's like a round, stony area in the middle of the plateau. You'll have to run down off of it and find the road. Continue taking the road West to Erromon. |
| 11 | 007 Nightfire | During the exchange level (first level) if you jump in the truck and the guards don't notice you, you'll eventually get to the gate. You'll hear the guy driving the truck say that there are 20 cases of wine. But if you count all the cases there are only 19. |
| 12 | Halo 2 | During the level of Halo "Truth and Reconciliation", during the cut scene just after rescuing Cpt. Keyes, he tells you that he overheard the Covenant discussing the Ringworld and that it is a weapon, when in fact during Halo 2 when you get a greater insight into the Covenant religion, the Covenant believe it is a relic allowing them to begin the Great Journey. |

| 14 | Desperados: Wanted Dead Or Alive | In the few instances where you can hit Marshal Jackson with the lightning cheat, he remains upright even after being depleted of his 2,500 life points. (I've tried that stunt in El Paso). |

| 16 | The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess | When magnetic ceilings are found, and you fly towards the ceiling, while in midair, pause and take of the iron boots. You will be able to walk without iron boots. |
| 17 | GTA: San Andreas | If you enter the police station in Dillimore (in Red County), the loading screen states you're entering "LSPD HQ", which isn't correct. LSPD HQ is in Los Santos, in Pershing Square. However, the two stations are identical in appearance, and the only major difference is Dillimore's police station has the "Country-style" cops while LSPD HQ has the "City-style" cops. |
| 18 | Phoenix Wright: Justice For All | In the first case, when Phoenix is in the lobby, Maya hands him a document. The specifics say that it was received from "Maya Fay." However, at this point in the game, Phoenix doesn't recognize her (because he has amnesia), so there is no way he'd know it was from "Maya Fay." |
| 19 | Skate | When you are at the X-games and doing the street contest, at the first spot there is a cameraman that floats about three feet up in the air next to the halfpipe. |

| 21 | Halo: Combat Evolved | Foehammer says that the Pelican can't dive at the end of the Silent Cartographer, however, in the next level, if you watch Foehammer leave after she drops you off, she dives down through a large hole. |
| 22 | Titanic: Adventure out of Time | The Titanic is depicted as sinking in one piece. The ship actually broke in two before going down, which was already known at the time this game was made. |
| 23 | Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords | When you are at the Secret Academy on Telos, and the Handmaidens tell you to put down your weapons, if you select the option "OK. We mean you no harm." the first time you have the option of doing so - you will receive light side points, but you will also cause the game to glitch, so that Atton and Kreia are behind you - and you can talk to either one of them. When you try and talk to Kreia, nothing will happen, and when you talk to Atton, you will be given two options - 1.[Cheat Node]Jump to PC confrontation with Atris 2.[Cheat Node]Continue with Kreia conversation The problem with this glitch is that you can't leave the academy ~ you're stuck here for good! Suggestion: make two save files before you enter the secret academy - if you use the glitch, you can talk to Atris more than once, and you can learn a lot more backstory to the game. The other one should be used so that you can actually get off of the academy. Though your characters may not know the story - you will - and I find that much more satisfying. To avoid this glitch: Select option one "Who are you?", or something along those lines - and on the second dialog screen, select "OK. We mean you no harm." I don't believe you get light side points for this. |
| 24 | Medal of Honor: Underground | In the castle mission (not the one with zombies and dogs) when you go through a big door there is a helmet at the end of the room. Go behind it, and you can see through the walls. |
| 25 | Grand Theft Auto: Vice City | During his interview on K-Chat, B.J. Smith says "Like the song says, 'don't call it a comeback.'" The song he's quoting is "Mama Said Knock You Out" by L.L. Cool J, which wasn't released until four years after the game takes place. |
| 26 | Resident Evil 4 | After Leon beats Bitores Mendez and takes his fake eye, you will notice if you look closely at his corpse that his fake eye is still in his head. |
| 27 | Final Fantasy VII | When Cloud and Aerith visit the first 'Sephiroth clone', in Sector 5 in Midgar, she says to him "This guy are sick". That is a translation error and should say "This guy is sick". |
| 28 | Repton Infinity | In the Repton 3 and Repton 4 portions of the game, if you are killed by a spirit or fungus while taking a diamond, the game doesn't give you the 5 points for that diamond. On the Repton 3 screens this means you cannot complete the level. |
| 29 | Guildwars Prophecies | During the Sanctum Cay mission there is a cinematic were you hand the Scepter of Orr to Vizier Khilbron. However, before this, the vizier can be seen already holding the scepter. |
| 30 | Super Mario 64 | After getting all 120 stars and using the cannon to get to the top of the castle, if you walk around enough at the highest point you will fall through the roof and into a hidden dimension of the front wall. Going through the door itself will not let you escape, so you must jump through the wall to reach the outside. |
