Continuity mistake: In the first film, it is mentioned several times that Kevin is 8 years old. However, in this film it is stated that he is 10. When his parents are in the Miami airport security office, they say that he was left alone last Christmas. That would make him 9. Both films take place the same days, from about three days before Christmas until Christmas morning, so even if Kevin is born around Christmas time this is still a mistake.
Continuity mistake: Just before Batman takes his mask off at the end, the black makeup around his eyes vanishes while the mask is still on. (01:48:20)
Revealing mistake: After Mary Robert jumps out of the car, you can see the stunt double falling for her.
Revealing mistake: When the terrorists drop the dead body out the aircraft door, look closely at the aeroplane just beneath the door, you can see the reflection of the mat the stuntman lands on, as well as the spotters around it.
Other mistake: In the scene following the robbery, the four young men, led by Tupac Shakur and Omar Epps, run into a brick court, walled on four sides. Shakur states he's going to keep the gun, despite suggestions that they ditch it. He has a revolver stuck in his jeans, by his left hip. When he is challenged about keeping the gun, he pulls another revolver from his pocket, scuffles with one of his friends and shoots him in the chest - all the while the grip of the other identical revolver is in view.
Suggested correction: It looked like old man Quilles' gun that he must've taken off-screen after he killed him.
If you look at the movie again, Quiles' gun was a long nose revolver, Raheem's gun was a snub nose.
Other mistake: Towards the end where they steal the chip, they are detected and about a million security guards are all running around, yet 30 seconds later, the only security guard is one man with a shotgun. What happened to their big army of security guards? (01:41:30 - 01:42:55)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Mr. Blonde is pouring gasoline over the cop, the cop's legs are flying around trying to kick him. Later, we see that the cop's legs are still taped to the chair.
Visible crew/equipment: When the guitarist almost gets hit by a bus, you see a shot from inside the bus about what happens outside. If you watch carefully you can see Robert Rodriguez in the rear view mirror holding the camera with a towel on his head. (00:27:00)
Continuity mistake: In the hockey game, the teams playing are the Los Angeles Kings and the Toronto Maple Leafs. You can notice the real logos when the camera is away from the action. When it gets closer, though (probably because of copyrights), the maple leaf is turned into a spades (from cards) with only "Toronto" written and the Kings' word and crown in the logo become just an "LA" with a slightly different shape.
Continuity mistake: The scene filmed in 'Daves Bar-B-Q' is across the street from a bank that has an outdoor sign indicating time and temperature visible through the restaurant window behind Vinny. When the meal begins, the time is in the 12:00 o'clock hour. Seconds later when the clock is visible again the time is in the 4:00 o'clock hour. The judge only permitted a 60 minute recess. Continuity mistake: During the trial at the end, Jessup struggles with the MPs to get to Danny Kaffee. After the struggle, his tie is all out of place. In the following close-up shots, it's re-aligned, before becoming completely askew as Jessup goes to retrieve his hat.
Other mistake: When Fergus finds Jude in his apartment (the scene in which she has coloured her hair red), Jude unholsters her 38 cal. and one can distinctly hear her cock the hammer. At the end of the scene, she places the gun in her purse with the hammer uncocked.
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning, Jake drives a motorcycle out of the warehouse shoot-out and spins out as police cars converge on him. He has blood coming out of the right corner of his mouth, the shot changes, cuts back to him and the blood is on the left, then right again in the subsequent shot.
Continuity mistake: When crackhead drug dealer stabs Mr. Big at the table in the club, the boss pulls a table cloth, upsetting crockery. In next shot it's all perfectly tidy.
Continuity mistake: When Levoi and Crowhorse visit Grandpa for the first time note the white and black beaded belt on the table behind Grandpa. In the beginning it hangs at the edge just at the first black stripe. Just after Grandpa trades Levoi for his glasses and hands him the rock, the belt now hangs nearly to the second black stripe. Continuity mistake: When Eddie Murphy is on a duck hunting trip with a bunch of gun lobbyists, the lobbyists are firing their M16 rifles at a bunch of ducks that are flying by. You can clearly see them squeezing the trigger and not a single shell case is coming from the chamber of the gun. Also, when you fire a gun there is usually smoke from the muzzle but in the movie there is no smoke, yet you hear the sound of several guns firing. (00:55:00)
Other mistake: The steamship shown in Patriot games is actually a shot from John Wayne's 1955 Sea Chase.
Suggested correction: The use of stock footage in movies is a common practice. More context would be needed to explain why this is a mistake.
Continuity mistake: Near the end, when the hitman walks out of the diner, the camera focuses on the car in the parking lot, cuts back to the hitman, then cuts back to the car. The problem is the shadows in the first shot of the car are about half a meter long, but a few seconds later they are two meters long. Obviously both takes of the car were taken hours apart.
Continuity mistake: When Ray Liotta throws Madeline Stowe on the bed after she pulls the gun on him, he used his hands to pin her arms down. Then they cut to a different angle, her arm is pinned under Ray's leg and he's grabbing her hair.
Other mistake: When the girl throws a grenade at the closed window it rolls a bit and you see that the bottom has been drilled out.
