Continuity mistake: In the very first scene, after the lead flunkie finishes his song, he turns around to speak to Margaret Dumont. When he turns back, look closely at his waistcoat - it's completely different.
Continuity mistake: In the fight sequence (just before Paul stabs the French soldier), supposedly a lump of rock strikes Paul's helmet, but doesn't dent it. When it cuts to the closeup, the helmet now sports a large dent.
Continuity mistake: Oliver Hardy is teetering at the top of a ladder which is in the back of Stan Laurel's car. Stan is driving west on Wilshire Boulevard when Oliver, and the ladder, fall into the street. Oliver gets back into the car but now is it inexplicably atop the streetcar tracks and facing the opposite direction.

Continuity mistake: Stan and Ollie are sitting on the roof of their boarding house with their dog, Laughing Gravy, who had crawled up the chimney. The dog walks away from Stan and Ollie and disappears from the shot. In the next shot, the dog is sitting behind Stan.

Continuity mistake: Edgar Kennedy plays a cop who persuades Laurel & Hardy to break into the police chief's home so he can arrest them and "get in good with the Chief." Jimmy Finlayson plays the Chief's servant. When he hears noises, he stumbles at the top of the stairs and falls down the staircase. When he lands (it is obviously a stunt double), he is sprawled parallel to the stairs with his legs pointing to the right. In the close-up, he has reversed position and his legs are pointing to the left.
Continuity mistake: When she's confronting Bill, the maniacal look on Min's face disappears and reappears between full shots and close-ups.

Continuity mistake: When Stan climbs out of the window to send himself a telegram, the window blinds are fully up inside the house, but when we cut to him going outside, the blinds are now a third of the way down.
